Palms are a big part of the Florida look, and they need the right kind of care. Oakcrest Outdoors trims and removes palm trees of all sizes for homeowners, businesses and HOA communities in Orlando, Kissimmee and across Central Florida.
Palm Tree Trimming
A good palm trim removes what the tree no longer needs and leaves the healthy green fronds in place. Our palm trimming includes:
- Removing dead, brown and hanging fronds
- Cutting off seed pods, flower stalks and fruit clusters that drop and make a mess
- Cleaning up old frond boots where needed for a neat trunk
- Clearing fronds away from roofs, pool cages, lanais and walkways
- Hauling away all fronds and debris
We do not over-prune. Cutting off too many green fronds, sometimes called a “hurricane cut,” can starve and weaken a palm. We trim to keep your palms healthy and looking their best.
Common Palms We Work On
- Queen palms
- Sabal (cabbage) palms
- Washingtonia palms
- Canary Island date palms
- Pygmy date palms
- Foxtail, Christmas and other ornamental palms
Palm Tree Removal
If a palm is dead, diseased, leaning or simply in the wrong place, we can remove it safely, cut it down in sections when space is tight, and haul it away. We can also replace it with a new palm or other plant installation.

Frequently Asked Questions
How often should palm trees be trimmed?
Most palms in Central Florida look best with a trim once or twice a year, depending on the type and how quickly they drop fronds and seed pods.
Can a dying palm be saved?
Sometimes. Palms can decline from nutrient problems, disease or damage. We will take a look and tell you honestly whether trimming, treatment or removal makes the most sense.
Do you also install palms?
Yes. Ask us about new palm and plant installation.
